2025 PUBLIC ART IN FARIBAULT CALL FOR ARTISTS

Straight River Arts and Paradise Center for the Arts and volunteers are looking to collaborate with each other and the EDA and City of Faribault to create and install permanent public art in the city.

To start this adventure, we are offering $2400 to each of three artists to make a piece of public art. Artwork is to be placed throughout Faribault in parks and public areas. 

Requirements: 

• The Artist should be a resident of Rice County or a person with connections to Faribault
• The Artwork should be created with an eye to representing the people, places, ideology or interests of Faribault.
• Artwork will be stand-alone (not tethered to a building or existing structure.)
• Installation will be accomplished by the artist (with assistance from Straight River Arts.) Artist payments include installation costs so should be factored in.
• Proposals from artists should include a drawing, materials, cost analysis, installation plan, artist resume and statement, and narrative of the artwork. 
• Straight River Arts will work with the City of Faribault to determine placement of the pieces of art. 
• Artists will receive $2400 to include materials, labor and installation of the artwork.
